Well, the show itself was pretty dull this year. I did find some badly needed new gloves but that was surprising considering the lack of vendors this year. We went on Friday night which prety much emptied by 9:30 so I should have been able to get some great shots. Unfortunatly we also had plans to visit some friends that evening so time was short. Still for the first public outing of my new digital camera I'm pretty happy with the photos.
Had to come back to this bike a few times before we caught it with a small enough crowd to get some pictures. I'm not big on Harley's in general but I do like that big solid tire.
I think this was one of the best shots I've seen from my digital camera yet.
The lighting in the IX center was pretty bad but the Nikon's flash overcame. Yeah, it's not
a great picture by tradional measures, but for digital I'm pretty happy.
Since Matt has an older CBR I had to get a shot of this cool cutaway F4.
This was tough to get. The bike is mounted on a rotating platform that's moving just about
almost too fast for the digital "shutter" to freeze. Thanks to the preview I caught this and
managed to pan out this shot. I'll probably add a higher resolution image you can click for since it's
a very detailed view and this size image dosen't do it justice.
Another shot of Jeremy, this time on the new Yamaha cruiser (Road Star? IIRC). This bike had an incredible paint job that has to be seen to be appreciated.
Really, there was no chance. Just an on-camera flash, equivilent of ISO 64 film with
no tripod. Oh, and the bike was probably the least lit of any at the show! Nope, not a chance I was
going to get a picture of that paint.
The best part of the show (For me at least!) had to be the Ducati booth. They had a whole fleet of Monsters including the Dark, City, and Chromo! So of course they also had a whole bunch of people crowding around the bikes.
Grumble, that tank had so much light on it, and was so shiny. I knew I had no
chance of catching it in this shot. But I had to try to get something....
Check out that Desmo art! I want a tank like that. I've also got some pictures of the actual WSB winning bike that they had on display. I'll probably get them up here soon.
Well, it's not great but for the camera I'm happy I got this. And believe it or not I didn't even have to tweak the image much to get this out of it!
